Live camera discovery

SnapPet uses the live camera to recognize cats and dogs. Photo import is not part of the core loop, keeping the game focused on real encounters.

Deterministic cards

The same animal moment creates the same game identity through a deterministic card engine: species, rarity, name, traits, and stats.

Albums and progress

Build personal albums, earn XP, keep streaks, unlock badges, and collect everything from common pals to legendary finds.

Feeding is the free path

Feeding a pal is always free and unlimited. Quick adds without feeding have a small free allowance, then use optional credits.

Creative extras without changing the card identity.

AI Cartoonize

Turn a captured pal photo into a warm illustrated version. Cartoonizing is cosmetic: it does not change the deterministic species, rarity, name, traits, or stats.

Explore feed

Saved catches appear in Explore with a feed-ready photo, optional cartoon toggle, likes, owner name, and no location coordinates.

Cloud restore

Apple-linked accounts can restore cards, photos, cartoons, albums, badges, streaks, and progress after reinstalling or moving devices.

Credits

Credits are optional convenience currency for extra cartoon transformations and quick add flows. Purchases are consumable packs handled through Apple.

Built to protect animals, not expose them.

SnapPet is designed around a strict rule: animal locations do not leave the device. Friends and leaderboards are about collection progress, not maps of street animals.

No public animal map Location is optional and local-only. It is never written to Firestore.
Free to play, clear credits Feeding stays free and unlimited. Optional conveniences beyond the free allowance use credits you can buy.
Photos are transparent Apple-linked backups are owner-only. Explore posts show saved catch photos and optional cartoons to other signed-in SnapPet users.

Explore, profiles, friends, and leaderboards

Like shared catches, switch between photo and cartoon when available, open user profiles, add friends with a short code, compare collections, and climb leaderboards by fair server-side scores. City labels are self-declared and optional, not GPS coordinates.
