Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how SnapPet: Cat & Dog Collector handles information. SnapPet is designed to protect users and street animals: precise animal locations are not collected, sold, shared, or written to our backend.
1. Information We Collect
SnapPet may collect the following information to operate the app:
- Firebase Authentication identifiers, including an anonymous user ID. If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple may provide your name and email address, which may be a private relay address.
- Profile and social fields such as nickname, friend code, optional self-declared city label, avatar image, follower and following counts, and leaderboard score.
- Gameplay progress such as cards, generated and custom names, species, rarity, traits, stats, fed status, albums, Pet Home state, XP, streaks, badges, quests, and restore data.
- User content such as captured pet photos, generated cartoon images, profile avatars, and shared Explore post images.
- Explore post data such as owner name, card name, species, rarity, photo URL, optional cartoon URL, optional city label, card ID, like count, and creation time.
- Likes and follows. Your liked-post list and follow list are private to your account; aggregate counts may appear in the app.
- In-app purchase and credit records, including StoreKit product ID, transaction ID, credit grants, credit balance, and server-side credit ledger entries.
- Images sent to Cloud Functions for feeding verification or AI cartoon generation. These services process image bytes; they are not used to change the deterministic card identity.
- Technical security signals needed for Firebase App Check and abuse prevention.
- Crash diagnostics collected through Firebase Crashlytics, such as non-fatal errors and logs needed to find and fix app stability issues.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect, sell, or share precise animal locations.
- We do not write location fields, GPS coordinates, latitude, or longitude to Firestore for catches or social posts.
- We do not use your optional city label as GPS or precise location data.
- We do not store your Apple payment card details. Purchases are processed by Apple.
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not use collected data for tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
- We do not currently use advertising identifiers or an advertising SDK in production. If advertising is introduced, this policy will be updated before it is used.
3. Camera, Photos, and Animal Detection
SnapPet uses the device camera so you can discover cats and dogs in real time. Captured photos are stored locally for your collection. When a catch is saved, SnapPet also creates an Explore post with a feed-ready photo tied to your app account, without location coordinates. If you later generate a cartoon for that card, SnapPet may attach the cartoon image to the existing Explore post so other signed-in SnapPet users can switch between the photo and cartoon.
On-device recognition can confirm that a cat or dog is present. Server-side AI may be used for feeding verification and cartoon generation as described below.
4. Cloud Backup and Restore
If you use an Apple-linked, non-guest account, SnapPet backs up your collection so it can be restored after reinstalling the app or using another device. This backup may include card metadata, photos, cartoons, albums, badges, streaks, Pet Home state, and progress. Backup card photos and cartoons are stored in Firebase Storage under owner-only access rules. Guests may not have the same restore ability after reinstalling.
5. Explore, Social Features, and Leaderboards
SnapPet uses Firebase to support Explore posts, profiles, friends, likes, follows, public card metadata, and leaderboards. Other signed-in SnapPet users may see your nickname or owner name, avatar, score, level, collection counts, public card metadata, Explore photos, optional cartoon images, optional self-declared city label, and like counts. They cannot see where an animal was found because SnapPet does not write animal coordinates to the backend.
6. Sign in with Apple and Anonymous Accounts
SnapPet starts with Firebase anonymous authentication so the app can keep a stable app account without a password. Sign in with Apple is optional and links the Apple credential to the current app account when possible so progress can be preserved. The Apple sign-in request asks Apple for name and email. Apple may provide a private relay email address. SnapPet uses this information for account identity and restore, not for tracking.
7. Purchases and Credits
SnapPet uses optional consumable credits for convenience and cosmetic features. Feeding a pal is always free and unlimited. Quick adds without feeding use a free allowance first and then credits. The current server economy gives one welcome cartoon transformation and then charges credits for additional AI cartoon transformations.
Credit packs are purchased through Apple using StoreKit. SnapPet receives and verifies Apple-signed transaction information through a Cloud Function, then records the credit grant and credit ledger in Firebase. SnapPet does not store your payment card number or Apple account payment details.
8. App Store Privacy Label
In App Store Connect, SnapPet's privacy label should match the app's current data use:
- Identifiers: Firebase user ID and Apple Sign in account identifiers, used for app functionality, not tracking.
- Contact Info: Apple-provided name and email may be used for account functionality when you choose Sign in with Apple, not tracking.
- User Content: captured pet photos, cartoon images, avatars, and user-created names, used for app functionality and social features, not tracking.
- Purchases: consumable credit purchases and transaction records, used for app functionality, not tracking.
- Other Data: nickname, friend code, optional city label, gameplay progress, scores, likes, follows, and restore data, used for app functionality, not tracking.
- Diagnostics: crash and non-fatal error data collected through Firebase Crashlytics to improve app stability, not tracking.
- Location: precise location is not collected by SnapPet backend services. Animal coordinates are not written to Firestore.
- Tracking: no.
9. AI Services
SnapPet uses Google Gemini through Firebase Cloud Functions for feeding verification and AI cartoon generation. The API key is not stored in the app client. Feeding verification processes image bytes and returns whether feeding was detected. Cartoon generation processes an image and returns a generated cartoon image. These AI signals do not change the deterministic card identity produced by SnapPet's card engine.
10. Data Sharing
We use service providers only to run core app functionality, including Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Firebase Storage, Cloud Functions, App Check, Crashlytics, StoreKit purchase verification, and Google Gemini behind Cloud Functions. We do not sell your data or use it for cross-app tracking.
11. Data Retention and Deletion
Gameplay, backup, social, purchase, and account data are kept while your app account is active. You can request account deletion from inside the app. Deletion is intended to remove backend account data, local app data, and the Firebase Auth identity associated with the app account.
To delete your SnapPet account in the app:
- Open SnapPet.
- Go to Profile or Settings.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion prompt.
After confirmation, SnapPet attempts to delete your backend account data through the deleteAccount Cloud Function, wipe local app data, and remove the Firebase Auth identity. If the account is linked to Apple, SnapPet also attempts to revoke the Apple token before deletion where possible. If you cannot access the app or need help with deletion, contact sketchhero.team@gmail.com.
12. Children
SnapPet is not intended for children under the minimum age required by local law to use online services without parental consent. If you believe a child provided information without proper consent, contact us so we can delete it.
13. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app changes. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
14. Contact
